A stunning custom designed home situated on the leafy banks of the Barwon River in Fyansford. Our brief was to create a unique, architecturally designed home utilising a blend of various materials and textures that work together to achieve a contemporary look and feel.
At 30 squares in size with two large living areas, four bedrooms, two bathrooms, two powder rooms and a double lockup garage, this home is both spacious and functional. The floor plan was carefully designed to take advantage of the views of the Barwon River and Highton hills by adopting an upstairs living configuration.
Passive design principles were implemented to construct a 6 star energy rated home with low running costs. High quality double-glazed windows and LED lighting were employed throughout the home to maximise energy efficiency.
On the outside, a combination of horizontal weatherboard cladding, black painted render, stained vertical timber cladding and a sandstone feature wall creates a classy, textured finish.
Inside, a theme of matte black fixtures and fittings throughout, complimented by the use of feature grade timber and a colour scheme of white, grey and black add depth and warmth to the home.
Downstairs, the entrance leads to three large bedrooms, each with built-in wardrobes, a generous bathroom, powder room, laundry and lounge.
The half landing wormy chestnut staircase with glass balustrade leads to a luxurious and spacious upper floor comprising a large master bedroom with ensuite and walk-in wardrobe, a well-appointed kitchen, dining area and living area, powder room and a spacious, sheltered alfresco area with views over the Highton hills.
The open plan kitchen, dining and living room feature a lofty raked ceiling and highlight window capturing an abundance of natural light. Wormy chestnut timber flooring and the bluestone feature wall and hearth in the living room add texture with the wood fireplace creating warmth and cosiness in the winter months.
